A guide to Configuration of Huawei MODEM EC321,EC325 for Linux Operating System

1 Introduction
This document instructs how to install EC321 EC325 in a Linux OS environment and how to configure the dialup connection for the EC321 EC325.

The Linux OS referred to in this document is 2.4.* kernel version or later, and this user guide use the FedoraCore 3.0 Linux distribution version.

2 Configuring the USBSERIAL driver module
2.1 Append the following line into the /etc/rc.d/rc.local file:

modprobe usbserial vendor=0x12d1 product=0x1001

2.2 Insert EC321 datacard and reboot the computer

3 Configuring Dialup Connection for EC321,EC325

3.1 Open "Network Configuration"

Application->System setting->Network

3.2 Add new device and create a dialup connection

For Modem Device correct Port, Please try to check by use the "dmesg" command

For Citycell Zoom , please use the information :

Phone number: #777

Provider name: Citycell Zoom

Login name: waps , Password: waps

Select provide> IP address settings> Check mark on Automatically obtain IP address setting> Apply new connection

Save the configuration and reboot the computer

4 Dialup to Internet
Application -> System setting -> Network
Click the ‘Activate’ button and the modem status will change to ‘Active’
